Why redirect chains matter for affiliates
Affiliate networks rely on redirects to attribute commission. The click first hits the network tracker, which records the publisher and merchant, then forwards the user. If that forward step strips a tracking ID, redirects to the wrong region, or fails outright, the publisher loses the sale.
Most of the time you only notice when the monthly report comes in light. A weekly redirect check catches the breakage in days, not weeks.

What does this tool report?

Are long redirect chains bad?
Each hop adds latency and another point of failure. If a hop returns a 4xx or 5xx, the chain breaks and the click earns nothing. Our scanner flags links where the chain fails to reach a working destination.
What is the difference between a 301 and a 302?
A 301 is permanent and gets cached by browsers and search engines. A 302 is temporary and refetched every time. Affiliate networks usually use 302s so they can change destinations without invalidating caches.
Can a 200 OK still mean a broken link?
Yes. A merchant can soft-fail by returning a generic homepage or a "page not found" template that responds with a 200. The full Partner Revenue Guard product checks for these soft failures across every page on your site.
